Using diaries, letters, accounts of the family written in the 19th century and recorded memories, she discover clergy, doctors, shop keepers, musicians, soldiers, farmers and even a poet, from whom she is descended. The tragedy of her father’s disappearance in the South Pacific in 1955 when she was four, provides the impetus to discover who she is and where she belongs.
